Christopher’s role at Hypur Ventures is to develop the strategy of the fund and to execute that strategy through the sourcing of investment opportunities. As Chairman and CEO of Hypur, Inc., Christopher is in contact with industry players of all kinds, as a service provider and strategic partner. Businesses are not in competition with Hypur but instead are able to accelerate their growth by being part of the Hypur platform. The cannabis industry – from state and local governments to financial institutions to cannabis businesses – are all interested in having access to electronic payment through Hypur. Christopher’s cell phone rings a lot.
Prior to founding Hypur in 2014, Christopher founded and served as CEO and Chairman of several public and private companies. He began his career in investment banking – focusing on mergers and acquisitions and structured finance – and has deep experience in corporate finance, hedge fund and private equity strategies.
Tahira has deep expertise in investing, branding operations, and strategy and has been named one of the most powerful women in the cannabis business by Fortune Magazine and Complex. As Managing Director of Hypur Ventures, she is responsible for fund strategy, investment sourcing and execution, and advising and managing portfolio companies. She is dedicated to developing female and minority leadership in the cannabis industry and is a proponent of social justice initiatives that empower communities adversely affected by the war on drugs.
Tahira is a former Director of Dope Media, a cannabis media company and portfolio company of Hypur Ventures I. Prior to Hypur Ventures, Tahira was General Manager for Marley Natural and an Investment Manager at Privateer Holdings. She also served as a portfolio manager at City First Enterprises, research associate at Perry Capital, and began her career at Ernst & Young.
Tahira earned her MBA from the Yale School of Management and B.S. in Finance and Life Sciences from The Ohio State University. She currently resides in New York City.
Tyler leverages his extensive experience in building brands, managing key relationships and strategic partnerships. Tyler has been at the forefront of expansion efforts for over four years and touches financial institutions, government officials, regulatory bodies and the state legal cannabis industry. As a result, he possesses an intricate knowledge of the banking and regulatory climate, key industry influencers, industry dynamics and market history. He has also become a key contact for media outlets, analytics companies, industry consultants and investment firms searching for reliable, accurate sources of industry information. Tyler’s contacts and relationships in the US state legal cannabis industry are unparalleled.
As a result of his influential value, he was selected to be a member of the National Cannabis Industry Association’s Banking Access Committee. He is also a member of the Forbes Business Development Council, frequently publishing articles about the banking and payment environment in the cannabis industry. Tyler founded and managed a large beverage company prior to joining the Hypur team and was a Professional athlete in the New York Mets Organization.
Patrick has been active in the California real estate finance industry for 25 years. His lending experience includes all types of real estate, including land acquisition, construction, commercial and development. His recent involvement funding properties for the cannabis industry and knowledge of California cannabis licensing is an asset to our organization.
